
Opole is a city with three universities, well-regarded theatres and concert halls. In this city modern architecture exists near historic buildings and landmarks, all of this available within just a few minutes walking distance.
Opole has a vivid small square with many pubs, but also well-known restaurants or smaller locales such as Pożegnanie z Afryką. Opole is also known for its long and beautiful cycle paths, not only through the city centre, but also along the Odra river or the city’s bath areas. There are many in Opole which are perfect if You are looking for a summer break near the beach. If that’s not enough, a few kilometres from Opole lies Turawa – a lake suitable for both bathing and water-based sports.
Walk along Opole’s own Venice or dive in between the beautiful buildings of Szpitalna street. To find nature and lots of open space, all you need to do is walk a little further to the Bolko Island, where you can find the well-known coffee/club-house Laba situated near a gorgeous pond. If you aren’t a fan of walking, you can always use modern city transit or bike rentals. This is the city where you can visit the best Zoological Garden in Poland or the Piast Tower – a symbol of Opole which is now fully multimedia-enabled.


Opole is also the Capital City of Polish Song-writing, where during a yearly festival the city is alive with music – don’t worry – not just Polish and not only popular! There are also rock, rap or avant-garde concerts. Whenever you feel a need to go to a wider world, Wrocław and Katowice are reachable within an hour – whether you use the highway or a train.
